There is nothing like a good western novel to enjoyed to its fullest.I think this my first time with author Ash Lingam. For certain it will not be my,last. The book brings excitement,anger,rage and a few dead outlaws. Story characters...Marshall Black,and Harold Stampede unite together and sets up a very interesting partnership. Gunfight,saloon,hard tack,black coffee and soiled doves. I enjoyed reading this,I hope others will do the same
This was a good read, and the characters are mostly realistic, with a bit of tongue in cheek. The author has put together a good group of people that have no problem with anything, and that's what makes it good.
A rather unusual premise for a western. Not sure this would be credible back in the day to ask for cooperation with outlaws. Interesting concept.
Different heroes, villians, romance and story lines but a good read which grows on you. Didnt quite understand why Harold continued with original mission following breakup with original publisher. Seems a true convert to the western way would have broken the contract.Still, a very well written and good read which grows as it goes.
So having just finished book 1 of the Seven Killers series I have enjoyed it thoroughly can't wait for book 2. Marshall One Eye Jack Black rates up there with Captain Creek
Poorly written and it has no action. It is about nothing but killing and has a poor plot. I did not enjoy.
Enjoyed this book . Started out little slow but man what an interesting story . The story kept getting better I couldn't put down. This is a new author for me but one I will read again.
An interesting western with a dime novel flavor. Chicago newsman Harold Stampede is sent West to interview the seven most notorious killers of the West. Marshall Jack Black, a milk-drinking good guy turned whiskey-swilling gunslinger, is hired to help him find them. Halfway through the story, a famous Broadway singer who met Harold before he left Chicago, decides she's in love with him and heads West to find him, establishing herself as a proponent of women's rights while waiting in Kansas City for his return.This one has a "True Grit" flavor and except for a few misuse of homonyms, is a very entertaining tale indeed. Looking forward to Book 2.This novel was purchased by the reviewer and no remuneration was involved in the writing of this review.
